Hey all,
It's December and Christmas preparations just started.. The weather is getting colder and our skin is getting drier. We are more likely to neglect ourselves from styling point of view as well as the beauty one. Honestly, I am barely getting out of my house, in Paris it's getting really cold and I am just lazy to dress up, put make up on and enjoy life. But, while I am writing this post, I made a decision to take care of myself and my skin, dress up and put more makeup and nail polish because then I, and if you too do so, will feel pampered and simply a diva!
1. Moisturize!!
-Body: First of all, you have to moisturize and hydrate your skin 24/7. This might sound strange but I hate body cream. I can't stand the feeling of it for example on my hands or my legs. You can use creams, body butters, and/or oils. The body shop have nice lotions and body butters. The one shown in the picture is actually my sister's. It's The Body Shop 'Body Butter in Chocolate'. Who doesn't want to smell like chocolate in Winter? I don't. This would actually motivate me to apply more creams! Another brands that I like are Nuxe, Johnsons and Johnsons especially their baby oils and Nivea.
-Face: You should also make sure to hydrate and moisturize your face. Any face moisturizer will do, the one I have in the picture is Algenist 'Regenerative Anti-Aging Moisturizer' which feels really nice on the skin because it feels light but moisturizes well. You know I love my Bobbi Brown 'Hydrating Gel Cream' which smells amazing and I have been using for the past three years along with it's eye cream plus I always talk about here in my blog.
-Lips: The worst thing to have in winter is chapped lips. No one wants dried clumpy lips! I apply moisturizers every hour and don't forget to scrub them to get rid of the dead dried skin. The one I am using now is Maybelline's 'Baby Lips in Hydrate'. As well, I am using my holly grail lip product from Dior which is the 'Creme de Rose' but I will do a full review on it soon.
2. Vampy Bold Lips!!
Hands on the best colors in the world and they are the shades of red and purple. Lately, I have been obsessing over purple shades and obviously reds because red is my favorite color. In the picture I have Chanel 'Glossimer in Savage Grace' which is a nice redish purple with fuchsia shimmer (simply AMZAING), Yves Saint Laurent 'Rouge Volupte in Red Muse', Make Up For Ever 'Rouge Artist Intense No.15' which is blue toned purple with silver blue shimmer, it's indescribable, and Maybelline 'Color sensational in Galactic Mauve' which is basically mauve color with golden shimmer.
I did before, swatches of some fall lip colors and those can work perfectly for winter too so take a look at the Links below:

3. Shimmer all the way!!
Having shimmer on your face and eyes seems very festive and that's what we want for the winter season especially for Christmas. For Blush, look for a coral toned blush with slight shimmer such as Nars 'Torrid Blush' which is similar to Nars 'Orgasm Blush' but with less shimmer. I really LOVE Nars Blushes. For highlighters, you can use powder ones or cream ones, here, I have Mac 'Cream Color Base in Shell' which is a frost then you can apply more shimmer with Bobbi Brown's Shimmer Brick which I made a review on here.
For Eye shadows, I have been loving bronze, gold, purple and pomegranate color shadows. I am liking Maybelline's 'Color Tattoo in Metallic Pomegranate' and Sephora's 'My Latest Fantasy Eye Shadow' especially when I apply it on a purple eyeliner to intensify the color.
4. Nail Polish!!
I don't always paint my nails, but when I do, I either go super bold or super nude! I love burgundy, deep red colors as well as black and aubergine colors for winter. I am not a glitter nail polish junkie and lover but from time to time, I apply some. For the moment, I am loving those two colors and they are the ones displayed in the picture above: Golden Rose 'Selective Nail Lacquer in Cherry Bomb' which is a cherry red color and OPI 'Nail Lacquer in Houston we have a Purple' which is a fuchsia purple color.
I hope you enjoyed reading my Winter Beauty Essentials post. If you like certain products from the ones I talked about tell me, and/or you have other ones that you swear by, then share them with me so I can give them a try!
Love xoxo,
Maha
